An avid trainer, trail rider and Wild Mustang owner, Kirk has over Seven years professional experience as a Natural Hoof Care Specialist.

A graduate of the University of Maine, Kirk’s love of animals has always been evident. With a degree in zoology, Kirk has worked with a number of animals but it is his love affaire with the horse that fueled his desire to understand their needs better.

“I spend an average of 30 miles a week contemplating the healthy hooves of horses. That’s the average number of miles that my Wild Mustang Mickey and I ride in a week. He’s a living classroom. A model of what a natural healthy hoof should look like. Along with the hundreds of horses I’ve trimmed since founding Barefoot Works! Mickey allows me to continue to explore science of Natural Hoof Care by observing how his hooves hold up to the wear and tear of being barefoot.”   Kirk’s hobbies include farming and ranching, working with his team of oxen and aiding the health of horses through Natural Hoof Care. He is a certified distributor and professional fitter for Easycare, Inc. and their Easy Boot products.
 

Seven years ago Karina added Natural Hoof Care practices to her list of accomplishments.  A recognized trainer, Karina has been training horses professionally for twenty-five years.  Her accomplishments include certifications in Equine Touch and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and she has been a featured clinician at National events such as The Extreme Mustang Makeover, Mid-West Horse Fair, Equine Affaire and Equine Extravaganza.  Karina is an approved trainer for the Bureau of Land Management and The Mustang Heritage Foundation.

“I was born with my love of horses and come from a long line of horsemen and women.  My niche has always been the most problematic cases.  Beginning with my 5-year internship as a Veterinary Technician and presently with my study of Natural Hoof Care practices, I’ve worked with horses ranging from completely Wild Mustangs to Olympic level Gold Medal Jumpers.  With the variety of horses I’ve worked with and the people who own them, I’ve become convinced that many health and training issues in horses are directly related to their overall hoof care. With hobbies including writing, cooking, farming and ranching, Karina enjoys exploring the energetic communications between horses and humans and meeting new clients through her practice as a Natural Hoof Care Practitioner.  She is also a certified distributor and professional fitter for Easycare, Inc. and their Easy Boot products.
